In lecture hall two, there will be hands-on training for all aspects of venous disease and scientific lectures.

In lecture hall three, there will be three days dedicated to the assessment and treatment of leg ulcers. This three-day section will be run by the Leg Ulcer Charity, and now will be helped by the Lindsay Leg Clubs.

Three days of leg ulcer training

The leg ulcer stream of the College of Phlebology’s 1st International Veins Meeting, will be three days of going through the assessment, treatment and latest advances in leg ulcer care.

The Lindsay Leg Clubs, with their extensive experience of treating leg ulcers in the community, will be involved in setting up the faculty, helping with the subjects to be discussed and providing some speakers.

Joining with them, the Leg Ulcer Charity will be providing experts in the to bring the latest research and techniques in both diagnosing and treating leg ulcers. Many of these are hospital-based but are completely revolutionising the outcomes for those who are suitable for these new treatments.

By working together, we hope we will be able to train leg ulcer nurses, tissue viability nurses and other healthcare professionals who are interested in assessing and treating leg ulcers, in the latest understanding and treatments for leg ulcers.

It is essential to find out those people whocan be completely cured, and make sure they get sent to the right places for cure. Those that are not able to be cured, need to have more traditional wound care treatments.

This conference will help everyone who is interested in leg ulcers to understand the difference between these groups and to do the very best for all of their individual patients.

We are delighted to welcome the Lindsay Leg Clubs to help us help all patients with leg ulcers.
