Abseiling down Guildford Cathedral – 5th September 2015
On Saturday 5th September a team of volunteers abseiled 160ft down Guildford Cathedral to raise funds for us, the Leg Ulcer Charity.
We received some great news coverage from Eagle Radio and The Guildford Dragon News
Professor Mark Whiteley was the first to take the plunge, dressed as Tigger, closely followed by the charity’s trustees; Barrie Price and Ian Clapp.
The Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Nikki Nelson-Smith and her family rose to the challenge and joined in the fun.
By lunchtime our 26 brave volunteers had abseiled down the iconic building.
Leg Ulcer Charity Dance at The Ripley Village Hall – 24th January 2015
Our first fundraising event was held at Ripley village hall in the Surrey on Saturday, 24 January 2015.
Mrs Carrie Wheeler organised and hosted by most spectacular evening helped by some wonderful friends.
A raffle was held with prizes including a lovely teddy bear, a couple of boxed bottles of rose Laurent Perrier champagne, a day of golf, three bottles of wine and some other very generous gifts that were donated for the event.
The evening finished off with a disco complete with laser light show. On final counting, £917.40 was raised – a fantastic result and boost for the leg ulcer charity.
