Cure leg ulcers

Venous leg ulcers can now be cured in the majority of cases (see research paper here).

The Leg Ulcer Charity was founded by Prof Mark Whiteley to help patients, carers, nurses and doctors to find a cure. The charity provides information and advice to all.

The Leg Ulcer Charity has joined forces with Ellie Lindsay OBE and her Lindsay Leg Clubs to run a 3-day course in London. This course will be part of the College of Phlebology’s 1st International Veins Meeting (www.collegeofphlebology.com/meeting2017).

During the course, delegates will be told the very latest techniques of curing venous leg ulcers.

Experts from the world of nursing, wound healing, ultrasound, human biology and venous surgery will show:

  • How leg ulcers form
  • What the underlying cause of leg ulcers can be
  • How Doppler and duplex ultrasound can show arterial pressure, hidden varicose veins, perforators and deep vein disease
  • How to assess leg ulcers into those that might be curable and those that will need long term care
  • Optimal compression techniques for those who can’t be cured with endovenous techniques
  • How the latest techniques can permanently cure many patients.
